Love Is a Choice by Rick Warren
… That you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Deuteronomy 30:20 (NIV)
*** *** *** ***
Love is a choice and a commitment. You choose to love or you choose not to love.
Today we’ve bought into this myth that love is uncontrollable, that it’s something that just happens to us; it’s not something we control. In fact, even the language we use implies the uncontrollability of love. We say, “I fell in love,” as if love is some kind of a ditch. It’s like I’m walking along one day and bam! – I fell in love. I couldn’t help myself.
But I have to tell you the truth – that’s not love. Love doesn’t just happen to you. Love is a choice and it represents a commitment.
There’s no doubt about it, attraction is uncontrollable and arousal is uncontrollable. But attraction and arousal are not love. They can lead to love, but they are not love. Love is a choice.
You must choose to love God; he won’t force you to love him (Deuteronomy 30:20). You can thumb your nose at God and go a totally different way. You can destroy your life if you choose to do that. God still won’t force you to love him. Because he knows love can’t be forced.
And this same principle is true about your relationships: you can choose to love others, but God won’t force you to love anyone.

Just stuff
Hey guys,
So karate was awesome again last night! Thanks so much Alan! Everybody come next Tues and bring a friend. It's good exercise, but it's even more important to learn the self defense moves.
Today is the leg & abs circuit...10 stations... one minute each first round 30 seconds second round... 3 leg exercises...2 abs... 5 cardio. You get your heart rate way up, and you build strength. It's my favorite!
See you soon!!

Choices
Choices Control Your Calendarby Rick Warren
We are each responsible for our own conduct. Galatians 6:5 (NLT)
*** *** *** ***
Your choices control your calendar and, as a result, your lifestyle. Your choices are far more powerful than your circumstances. You may not like how complicated your life has become yet, with very few exceptions, no one is forcing you to keep your life complicated.
You have the power to simplify your life.
The Bible teaches, “We are each responsible for our own conduct” (Galatians 6:5 NLT). To me, that means God expects us to assume responsibility for our lives and to carefully choose how we spend our time.
That’s why I’ve spent years teaching people to discover why God placed them on this planet: What is your purpose for being here?
Ultimately, it will be the donation of your life that will count far more than the duration.
In other words, it’s not how long you live – or even how much you cram into how long you live – it’s really about how you live.
Here are three essential steps to simplify your life:
· First, figure out your purpose, and then let your purpose guide the goals of your life.
· Second, organize your activities based upon your purpose.
· Finally, harmonize your schedule with your purpose; that is, bring your activities into agreement with your goals.
You have just enough time to do God's will while you’re here on earth. You’ve been given just enough time to fulfill your purpose. When you try to do more than God planned for you, it’s only natural that you’ll find yourself constantly out of time or stressed over your schedule.
If it doesn’t fit the purpose of your life, God doesn’t want you doing it. In fact, he may be overjoyed that you finally got the message and stopped doing meaningless activities. He may even want you to add “rest” or “have fun” to your to-do list.
My prayer for you is that you will find relief from stress and a new sense of satisfaction as you do only the things God created you to do.

Thankful Heart
Cultivating a Thankful Heartby Steve Arterburn
Be joyful always. Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 The great English writer G. K. Chesterton once wrote, "You say grace before meals. All right. But I say grace before the concert and the opera, and grace before the play and pantomime, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing, and grace before I dip the pen in the ink." Wow! What a reminder! There's no doubt in my mind that I could give thanks more often. We set aside meal time, Sunday mornings, and my favorite holiday; Thanksgiving. But, don't let an hour go by without giving thanks . . . for your work, school, kids, health, your spouse, your blessings and your challenges. When you have a God-awareness about life and when you see and sense Him in your day (in the big things and the little things), it's hard not to be thankful."Feeling gratitude and

Saturday
Hey guys,
Today is my 15th wedding anniversary! So this weekend I am taking off to Nashville for a romantic weekend. (OK so I am taking my kids, but still it will be nice.) Anyway, what that means for you is you are on your own for the Saturday workout. Here it is...
Workout
Go easy on your knees today. Swim, bike or roller skate. Just stick with it for 40 minutes.
I'll be back on Monday (oh and of course today & Friday's classes at the church are still on too.)

IGNORE OTHER POST TODAY
Hello again,
Completely ignore the previous post. The child that went to school sick is feeling better and is going to stay. So Friday's lunch class is back on AT CHURCH.
And after further thought... lets do the SATURDAY circuit workout at the CCHS stadium instead of the church! Woohoo!
See ya in a bit

Friday & Saturday classes
Hello all,
I am sorry to do this on such short notice but I am cancelling the lunch class today. My daughter is sick and I am picking her up from school and staying with her and Megan is unable to fill in. I apologize for any inconvenience.
Today is back & bicep day. If you want to go ahead with the workout we were going to do a bent over row, superman, pullover, hammer curls & 21's with 5 different cardio stations (jumping jacks, running, shuffle tap, etc.) Do each one for a minute. If you have any questions let me know.
Saturday we will meet at the church at 7:30 AM for a circuit workout for the 5k training.

Please remember Ike in your prayers. He went in the hospital and is not doing that well. For those of you that don't go to Grace, Ike is battling cancer.
Thanks.

Hello everyone,
Alan Dulaney (our martial arts instructor) will not be able to lead our class tonight. He has had a severe diabetic episode. At this time I do not know if Gary is planning to come and lead or not. I will be at the church at 5:00 PM. If you want to drop by in case Gary comes, please feel free to. If not we will try again next week. Please keep Alan in your prayers.
